Basic auth encoder and decoder

Encode a user:password pair or decode a Basic Authorization value locally.

Runs in your browser. Your input is not uploaded or saved.

Result

Add your input, then select Convert Basic auth.

How to use it

Choose Encode for a user:password string, or Decode for a Basic header or Base64 value.

What to keep in mind

Base64 is reversible encoding, not encryption. The result contains the original credentials.

Up to 2 MB per input, with smaller limits for complex operations. Clear removes the current input and result.
